Virtual Fireside Chat with MCI DS Aaron Maniam

On 2nd September 2021, the PPE Club had the pleasure of speaking to PPE alumni and MCI’s second-in-command, Deputy Secretary Aaron Maniam about the relevance of PPE’s multidisciplinary approach in what he coins a “never normal” world. On top of his experiences in multiple government organisations (including MFA, SPO at the PSD, MTI as well as heading CSF) DS Maniam is also a polymath, having attained numerous other notable academic and prominent accomplishments. Tapping into DS Maniam’s wealth of insight about the value his PPE journey created in his personal and professional capacities was an absolute joy and eye-opener. We learned the benefits of wielding intersecting academic “languages” in the work that DS Maniam is so passionate about, all while gaining a fascinating insight into his work ethic and personality.

The NUS PPE Club would like to thank DS Maniam for taking the time to speak to us, and we look forward to hosting many more such events with distinguished PPE alumni.
